Stock
We restock our breeding birds from imported bloodlines each year and currently have three strains of Coturnix quail. All have the same environmental needs and your requirements will determine which of these you choose.

The first is what we call a Jumbo. They are aptly names as their weight can reach a hefty 14ozs. They lay a good sized egg albeit not quite as often as their smaller cousins. However, for anyone with limited enclosure space, they are an excellent dual purpose (meat & eggs) bird.

Second is the Italian Laying Quail. A delightful golden bird about 6ozs in weight at maturity. They are prolific layers at 6 1/2 weeks old producing a good quality medium sized egg. A very good bird for commercial use.

The third strain were imported last year from the Continent. We have called them Spanish to differentiate between the other two. They are a chunky medium framed bird available in four colours. They are laying as well as the Italian, giving a good even sized egg.

Apart from the Coturnix we also breed Bob Whites in several different colours; Californian, Gambels and Chinese Painted Quail.

Fertile Eggs
Fertile Japanese Quail eggs are £2.75 doz. We average around 80% hatch rate. Next day delivery, UK mainland only, or collect from the farm. Californian and Bob White fertile eggs are available in season. Please phone for price and availability.
